It all started when I was a little kid. My dad's an artist too. Here I am posing for one of his pieces. I can barely remember this... hell, all I actually remember is the sword and a vague impression of the hallway where the picture was taken. I wonder if dad still has that sword...

Sorry the daily dose has come grinding to a halt. I've been a bit under the weather and fighting off the flu... I'll get back to it when I'm feeling more human and less like a snot-flinging beast.

I'm doing five illustrations for White Wolf's Midnight Roads. Just got the descriptions last night, and they're going to be a blast to paint.

Here's a tidbit from innocent_man, one of the developers:

“It’s called World of Darkness: Midnight Roads. It’s about the highways and byways of the World of Darkness, the crazy shit that you’ll find out on the roads when you get a flat at 2AM miles from anywhere. It’s about the things that live at truck stops and roadside motels, and why they’re watching you while you’re trying to sleep. It’s about truckers, bikers, carnies and other people who live on the road. It’s about gremlins, vanishing hitch-hikers and other spirits that are inextricably tied to cars.”

I can't wait to get started... but I have a few jobs in the queue ahead of this one, so I better get back to it.

hawkward, Astonishing X-Men colorist extraordinaire, pulls a lot of all nighters, probably more than I do. I was just recommending to her a little trick I pull when deadlines are looming and sleep is tugging on my sleeve... the caffeine power nap.

Drink your favorite caffeinated beverage (a Sobe energy drink is my weapon of choice) then take a nap right away with an alarm set for 15 mins. When you wake, the caffeine should be kicking in and you'll much more refreshed than if you just had the drink. Your mileage may vary, but it works well for me.

Looks like I'm heading to the UK for three weeks this summer to meet with Talisman's new owner. It's going to be a working trip, but maybe I can sneak in a visit to a castle or three. I haven't been since 1996, so I'm really looking forward to it. Should be a blast!

It's that time of year again, getting my prints ready for the Origins art show. I've received requests for "Prince with a Thousand Enemies" and "Dragonfall", so those are in, if any of you are going to the show and would like to see something specific, leave a comment here and I'll see what I can do.

Well, it's official, I'm Pinnacle/GWG's new art director. :)

Pinnacle has a bunch of Savage Worlds projects lined and with additional product lines for Wizkids games like Rocketmen, Pirates, and Mage Knight, we're going to need some new blood.
